Abstract. Making use of culturological methodological tools, the author carries out an analytical overview of basic or typical various sources and literature dealing with the issues relating to culture and civilization. Studies analyzing the notions of ʼcultureʼand ʼcivilizationʼ from the position of comparative culturology have not been found. An attempt is made to formulate the authorʼs definitions of these terms.
