Abstract.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the representation of the blockbuster as the main audiovisual work of contemporary mass culture. The methodological foundation is based on cultural analysis and built upon the principles of objectivity. The research results lead to the conclusion that cinema is indeed an integral part of society’s cultural life. For many decades, this art form has embodied a creative and technical system that is constantly evolving and capable of creating a holistic emotional experience for the audience. The significance lies not only in its influence on the sociocultural environment but also in the potential to realize a commercial foundation for the project, which has led to the emergence of large-scale films aimed at achieving desired outcomes for both producers and consumers. The tremendous success of blockbusters is accompanied by a sequence of steps, beginning with the question of the core idea behind the creation of such films and ending with the statistics of how many people have paid to view the final product. The strategic plan must be well-balanced, specific, and clear, designed in a way that the invested time, money, human energy, and effort resonate with the audience and bring substantial success to the creators and producers of the project. The scientific novelty and relevance of the article lie in its contemporary perspective on the role of high-budget spectacular films in global cinema, aimed at a wide audience. The research presents concrete examples and factors contributing to the popularity of these audiovisual works, as well as outlines a specific blockbuster strategy. The practical significance of the presented material lies in the following: understanding the components necessary for the representation of a blockbuster, along with key elements required for the construction of such films, highlights a vector that permeates contemporary mass culture and emphasizes the significant role of cinema in the modern world.
