Procedure for Retraction of Published Articles
In accordance with the COPE Guidelines, which are followed by the editorial board of the journal “The
Culturology Ideas,” any published material found to contain unacceptable violations of academic
integrity undergoes a retraction procedure, as outlined, in particular, on the Ease platform.
An article may be retracted for the following reasons:
- detection of plagiarism in the article;
- discovery of falsifications or fabrications in the text; false arguments that undermine the scientific
value of the publication; clear violations of academic standards, etc.; - improper completion of the peer review process, or reviews that are fabricated, commissioned, and
violate the principle of objectivity; - incorrect authorship (e.g., individuals listed as authors who did not participate in writing the material
or conducting the research, or omission of authors who contributed to the research and preparation of
the article); - republishing the article without the author’s consent;
- existence of a conflict of interest that was concealed or misrepresented.
Article retraction may be Initiated:
- by an official written request from the author(s) of the article;
- by an official written request from the editorial office of another journal;
- if the editorial board of the journal identifies violations of research ethics by the author in the text of
the article; - by a written request from other individuals (participants in a conflict of interest) when evidence of
violations of research ethics by the author is provided.
In this regard, the editorial board of the journal “The Culturology Ideas” requires that each claim be
well-reasoned, substantiated, and supported by evidence.
The procedure for retracting a published scientific article is carried out according to the following
scheme:
- After a request from the author or another party, the editorial board of the journal appoints a
committee to verify the data. If a decision to retract the article is made, the meeting protocol of the
committee specifies the reason and the date of retraction. - Information about retracted texts is sent to bibliometric databases and libraries where the journal is
indexed. - After the retraction decision, the article and its description remain on the journal’s website. The
electronic version is marked with “Retracted” and the date of retraction. This is also indicated in the
issue’s table of contents. - The editorial office reserves the right to make decisions regarding future collaboration with the author
of the retracted article.
